Lost in the forest. Only darkness around you. Your only tool? An old camera that lights the way for a split second with every flash. Each flash shows the path ahead – sometimes it’s safe, sometimes it’s terrifying.

Flash and Fear is a short horror game developed by team Newave during SensAI Hack 2025 in Cologne, August 2025.

Inspiration: We wanted to make a horror game that feels scary but fun – something teens would play together, share clips of, and dare their friends to try. Inspired by viral jump-scare moments and escape games, we created a mechanic where the camera flash is the only way to survive.

What it does: Flash & Fear is a VR escape game built in Horizon Worlds.

• Players walk through a dark, haunted forest
• The only light comes from their camera flash
• Each flash reveals the path ahead – or something horrifying
• The goal: find the exit and survive the scare. Playable on VR, mobile, and PC
